Curriculum for Excellence – Ethos and life of the school as a community

 Our school and ELC motto: One School, Many Individuals sums up our vision in ensuring that Dunnikier is a place of learning, with a warm and welcoming ethos, where the needs of individual pupils are recognised, and everyone is valued. 

The children within our school and nursery are very important people to us and it is our aim that Dunnikier School and ELC should be an important and happy place for every child. 

We work closely with parents, children, and partners to develop and review our school values:

Confidence  Challenge   Respect    Responsibility    Fun

These are regularly revisited through assemblies with children and regular updates with parents, with the aim that our whole school community lives and breathes our shared values.  Recognition certificates are awarded to children who demonstrate our school values and celebrated at Hot Chocolate Fridays with members of the Senior Leadership Team.

Our goal is to offer children the opportunity to become responsible citizens, successful learners, effective contributors and responsible citizens so that they can take their place in an increasingly fast-paced, evolving world.  Through a range of opportunities, both indoors and outdoors, children will develop the skills needed for life and work in a 21^st century.
